Our First Day at Disney

Last week we headed down to our time share down in Florida. We spend a very relaxing week on the beach, playing in the ocean, pool and generally being lazy and enjoying watching Chani. One day we drove over to Orlando which was about 1 1/2 hours away. We spent the first day shopping and hanging around Downtown Disney. We decided to spend one night there so we could get up early the next morning and ride the tram right to Magic Kingdom. We scheduled a character breakfast that morning and got up around 6am to start the day. Chani did very well. The first character she saw was Stitch. He came up right behind her and hugged her. It put her off a bit and she didn't like him too well. Next came Lilo and she came up slowly. Chani did much better with the slower approach. Mickey missed our table but Pluto came up. We later were able to go see Mickey before we left. We then got back on the rail and headed to MK.

We got there just as they were singing to open the park. It was decorated for Halloween with orange everywhere. We had picked up our tickets the night before so we had them in hand and ready to go. I had no idea that Chani would be the star at Disney. So so many people stopped to say how adorable she was. I will admit that she was pretty cute that day. One guy said that if she were any cuter, she would have to be two little girls. Another said that she was a walking Disney promotion. Anyway, we went over to the toddler areas and did a few rides. She did really well here too. After each of them, she would say, "again." We walked through Minnie's and Mickey's houses and played in a small playground. We had lunch there in the park. I was starting to get tired by now. After we ate, we went to a pretty lame bear jamboree show. It was nice for two reasons. 1. We were able to sit for a bit. 2. It was air conditioned. One it let out, the rain had started. I had prepared and had raincoats for all of us so we donned them and headed out in the rain. We waited for the parade to start at 3:00 but they cancelled it due to the rain and had a character rainy day parade instead. We decided that we had enough by this time and headed out. We drove back to Ormond Beach.
