Memorial Day

I can't believe how time flies and how long I go without blogging. I guess I'm just in a funk about blogging and don't really have much to say. The free time I do have, I spend doing other necessary things around the house. I don't comment on blogs like I used to but I do still read them.

Yesterday we celebrated our first Memorial day and the unofficial first day of summer. It sure seemed like summer around here. We grilled, ate outdoors and played in the pool. We skipped the picnic in the park/beach and decided to do it today when it would be less crowded. We have to work around a couple of Matt's conference calls but that should be not a big deal. I'm off now to pack up some beach supplies. Let's just hope the rain holds off.

Showing me her teeth.

Her first backyard pool. It will do for now until we get one built. We've had a guy come walk the land and has estimates ready for us. I just need to return the call. Another thing added to the never ending task list.

Just some random shots

Just hanging out at the house.

A Day at the park

She decided that it would be fun to play with Bindi's water.

This is what happens when you let her have her own spoon to feed herself!

3 Word Sunday

Okay, my photo is 3 words but I just had to add about 300 more.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

To the two most important Mothers in the world, my mom and my mother-in-law! Without these two women, neither of us would be here today. Many times I look at my own daughter and think how my mom must have felt about me so many years ago. I often think, wow, mom must have sat back and had such pride watching me do the things that I'm watching Chani do. I think of all the hundreds of times I've lifted her out of her highchair or some other daily task and think that my mom did the exact thing for me so many times too, times five. My mom has taught me so many things and for that I'll be forever grateful. My mother-in-law was there for Matt and did the exact same things for him times three. Both of them are excellent (I almost used great here but I doubt if they would appreciate that!) grandmothers. They both fell in love instantly with Chani, just like we did. I look forward to each and every time we can make the trip to see them or them coming here. Thank you both for being our mothers and grandmothers. We love you both, more than you'll ever know.

Next to all my friends, sisters, sister-in-law who have been moms for some time. I can honestly say that each and everyone that I know are great mothers. Happy Mother's Day to all of you!

The category that I fall into today is for all the new mother's celebrating their very first Mother's Day! I know the giddy feeling of finally being able to have that baby in your arms. Finally to have the pitter-patter of little feet running about. It is the most wonderful feeling in the world. A very Happy Mother's Day to all of you.

And finally, to those who are still waiting. The sadness that this day brings, I so very much know the feeling. Knowing your daughter is still out there, waiting for you and not in your arms is so hard. I know nothing I can say can make it better and you don't wanna hear how to be patient and your day will come so I'll just wish you a Happy Mother's Day To Be and hope that your day will be here sooner than later!!

To all those other mothers that I forgot to mention and to those I don't even know, Happy Mother's Day to you too!!

New Blog

Since we are no longer a waiting family, it was time for a fresh new look. All the credit goes to this woman. I'm gonna miss the header Leda did for me but I love the new look. Thank you Debbie!!

Chani was placed in our arms 5 months ago today. Tomorrow we'll be celebrating being a Mom and I'll post my 3 word Sunday then. I'm sure there will be several others out there with the same three words but it fits us perfectly.

More Photos

Another day we had a play date at Randi and Jack's. Lisa and Briana were there too and we all enjoyed the beautiful weather, playing with bubbles and feasting on pizza!

I'm planning another ladies night out of dinner and painting pottery. If you're local and wanna come, shoot me an email!!

That's her newest word and each and every time she says it, she cracks me up. Chani is such a joy and so much fun to be around. She has the most beautiful smile. I still can't believe that she is ours. We've been really busy and on the go lately. It seems that we have so much going on now. I even took her to one of my favorite places and painted her first pottery piece. She didn't quite understand that the brush went on the piece instead of her mouth. She though it was her toothbrush! She ended up doing her finger paint technique, complete with the table and her hand print on the floor. (That's her rectangle plaque in the picture.) - Silly me forgot to take her picture of HER before getting her all cleaned up. She had paint everywhere, even on me.

One day we were just hanging out and she decided that she would pop a pair of socks in her mouth. She thought she was so hilarious and she was.

And just because she is so cute.

One day we went to the park. She even kept the glasses on for most of the day.

Matt is still working on the website and does so, at least a little bit every day. We've registered a new domain, ordered business cards and now have a federal tax id number. I even have a show that I'm getting ready to do. This is really turning into a business. Hopefully soon he'll have enough done so we can at least get it online. I can't believe how much work is involved just getting it together and organized. I'm working on promotion deals, give aways and tons of fun stuff.

I have more to post but she is awake now.
