We are IN!!! - My agency is saying the cut off is 11/30. I really hope they are wrong but they usually don't share that information unless they are sure. We should be hearing something within the next few days!! Ohhh, I'm so excited!!

Okay guys, this has been the hardest week yet of the wait. The days are slowly, very slowly going by and I keep checking for rumors but there just aren't any. Then, my agency calls today and I bring up questions like what will happen if there is something wrong with her once we get there. Will they support us? She took it wrong and is now thinking that I'm doubting the adoption. It was not a good conversation to have now at this point of the wait.
She then pretty much insisted that she needed to send the referral to my agency here who did the home study, after I stupidly mentioned it. I wish I would have kept my big mouth shut. They did the home study and now I don't have anything to do with them. I get all my support from friends, online, etc. It was stressful when it was done last time because of timing issues and they had to rush it done before their vacation and the holidays. I blurted that out too. So, now she thinks that there is a problem with them. I will have to do the post placement but I'll deal with that later. I just don't want to have them bring me into their office to view the referral. I want it delivered to the house so we can be alone with it comes. It just sucks if I have to wait even longer and delay the whole group because I will have to coordinate another meeting with the agency here. And of course, you know they will charge me for it.
I also told her that we just were not going to be able to make it to the travel meeting. We, (Matt and I) recently discussed it and decided that it just wouldn't be worth spending $800 for a four hour meeting. It's just not practical and I'd rather spend that money on her. I HATE not being able to meet my travel mates but most of the information, I pretty much already know. I just need the specifics. They can easily call me and fill me in on that. She probably thinks I'm a total nut job now.
She also made it sound like we'd only get another four days referred this time and to be prepared if I have to wait another month. She said that I could get up to a 15 month old, and wanted to know if I could transition into a toddler. I told her yes, I could do that. At this point, I'll take pretty much whatever they will give me. I just am so worn out and fed up with the whole adoption. I just want it to be done.
Sorry for the rambling. This is tough. Luckily I have plans every day until Monday. Maybe I should have saved our last vacation for this week!

Yesterday afternoon, Matt and I cleaned, hung up the remainder artwork and prepared for the potluck of our waiting families group. Outside of cleaning, which needed to be done anyway, I only prepared one dish. With everyone bringing a dish, we had plenty of delicious food. How nice that was not cooking all day! There were five adorable little ones running around, playing. It was so fun to see all the toys being used and not just added for color. It will be so nice when everyone in the group has brought home their little ones. We had such a good time last night. Thank you, everyone who came! Next time we all gather for a potluck, I should have a photo of my little one! I can't wait!
Here are some shots from last night. I'm working on taking better photos. Be sure to watch the adorable videos at the end. So, so cute!

Lately, I've been asked, a lot, if I am any and/or all of the above. Yes and No.
I am still relatively calm and haven't gone into the panic mode yet. I think I am getting more excited and a lot more confident that we are included. I have had a moment or two where I am like everyone else and ugly thoughts creep into my mind like what if we're skipped or what if something is wrong with her, or, she is a he. They don't consume me but have popped up a time or two.
Matt's co-worker just delivered her son this last week. She called him on the phone yesterday and it was a little weird hearing the conversation. She had said something about the adoption and that she couldn't imagine Matt being a Dad. Then, I heard Matt say, "I can't imagine you being a Mom." - It struck me in an odd sort of way. That they both should become first time parents at the same time.
The season is changing and Fall is just about here. This last week, I've been able to shut off the air and open up the windows. Love the freshness of the cool air coming in the windows. Yeah, no more $300 electric bills for awhile. Hopefully we'll have a couple of months where we need no cooling or heating. - Does anyone know when we should service these things? Do I need to get an air conditioner guy here to clean and prep for the winter or should I have a heating guy come in and prepare for winter??
I'm also in the cleaning mode again. I have pulled down all the curtains and have washed, pressed and am in the process of getting them all back up again. I'm washing the inside of the windows as I'm working with them. We've also managed to get the artwork back up in the toy room last night. I'm really liking that room. I love the color more and more each day. I made the valances and hung them this week too. I still need to get photos and get them put up.
I was in the basement yesterday, looking for some thumbtacks and started digging through some boxes of stuff that we have yet to unpack. Can you believe that after almost two years we still have boxes in the basement? - One day, when we get walls up down there, I'll be able to get it all organized. For now, it's mostly just piles. Anyway, as I was digging, I came across a ladybug magnet that I had no idea that I had. Perhaps we were matched yesterday. It looks very much like the photo up above.
I'm guessing that referrals will be coming on Oct 2, 3, or 4. So, next week should be my final full week of not knowing. We will get the call one of those days, hopefully but will have to wait until translation of the file, about a week, before we get the picture.
Our GA Wait potluck is here tomorrow. That should be loads of fun and I can't wait for it. If you're a local and want to be included, just let me know!
Oh, and the scrapbook thing on the previous post was really easy to use. I may even purchase some of the layouts or subscribe for a year.

Several years ago, Matt and I bought a time share property. We had never used it because it just never fit into our plans. Well, this year, I decided that we would definitely use it. We had driven down to Orlando back in the spring and drove right through our time share area so we decided to check it out while we were here. It was cute and it had recently undergone a load of work due to a hurricane. Our unit was open so we actually got to see it. Anyway, I thought it was doable so we put it on the calendar.
When our week came, we packed the mustang to the rims and I mean it was packed! We brought the mustang so we could drive the convertible along the beach. Well, that hasn't quite worked out well. It's still a bit warm for the top down but neither do we go out much so not a big deal after all. Matt did not take vacation from work so we are calling it his "working vacation". He does have some work to do and we had planned for that so it's not bad. I decided that while he was doing that, I would bring my sewing machine and finish up some projects that I've been wanting to get done before the baby comes. So far, it has been working out fairly well.
Each day we have gone swimming in the ocean and then the pool. The waves crashing into you is exhausting. The first day I lost my pony tail holder. The second day one of my contacts. Who knows what else I'll lose to the mighty ocean. Hopefully that's my last item. Being here is like going away to summer camp. All the other people here are here for the same week each year. Everyone talks to you. They have scheduled activities that you can join. It also reminds me somewhat of a cruise.
The place is like a little apartment. It has a full kitchen, complete with dishes, cookware, stove and refrigerator. A queen bed, table, tons of storage and a whole other room with tv, chair and a small sofa bed. Off that room is a good size balcony that overlooks the pool below and the ocean just beyond that.
It is VERY relaxing and calming. There are junk shops all along the main street but since we're not on vacation, I don't feel the need for souvenir shopping, although, I reserve the right to change my mind. We've located several grocery stores and are fixing our meals in house so not much spending in that area.
I can't believe that we've never made the time to do this before. So far, it has been a great experience. I even have a list of things to bring next time and things not to bring that we didn't need. I'll post a few photos soon.

November 25, 2005 is the cutoff. Listed first on the CCAA website. It's one more day than I had thought it would be. Am I sad about it? - No, not really. I'm actually a bit giddy because I know that I am next, without a doubt, well, only a tiny little one that something strange should happen within the next 31 days. (I'm guessing we'll see our referral on October 4th which is my Mom's birthday.) Eight of those 31 days I will be on the beach, without a care in the world. Leaving all the prep work, adoption, general everyday clutter behind me so we can focus on each other. I have a feeling that this month is going to go by rather quickly, for me anyway. I'll probably be a basket case the last week of it though. I'm actually a little bit excited.
Congratulations to all those who did fall into the 22-25th group!! Can't wait to see some pictures coming in!!

I have been painting the drawer fronts for Chani's closet and the other four shelves that Matt skipped last time he painted. I have one more side to all eight of them and then I'm done. Matt will put on the polyurethane and install them and put on the knobs. I hope we have it 100% complete by the beginning of the week.
While I still have all the stuff out of the toy room, and more importantly, out of the closet, he decided that he would go ahead and build the shelves in that closet. It's not going to be as fancy as her bedroom closet, just a few shelves for various toys, baskets, etc. I hope he gets that one done this weekend too. He is heading to Home Depot today to get the supplies!
So, what are your plans for the holiday weekend?
